Lesson 3.1: Web organization

this lesson talks about what an operator is in google search engine and how to use it effectively.so many of us may like to get information from a particular website without neccessarily allowing any other website to show up on the search result, so how do you do that, simple, just insert you search terms e.g. how to claim facebook username site:gurubest.com.

using the operator "site:" with colon before the website will limit your search to gurubest.com and if a post on [how to claim facebook username] is on my website, then you are likely to see it on the search query.in other words, using the operator will save you time in searching for something you are looking for on a particular website.

Lesson 3.2: Filetype

i so much love this particular topic.the lesson talks about how to search for a particular file type on google search.many of us do use the wrong format in searching for files online like pdf ebook, doc, swf, etc.should in case you are looking for any filetype on google search, you can simply use the search term for example, how to train a dog filetyp:pdf.

the above search term will give you only pdf ebook on how to train a dog.you can also do same for other type of filetype.

Lesson 3.3: Removing invasive results

for those of us who normally search for stuffs using google search, you can narrow your search to remove some entry by placing hyphen (minus sign) at the back of the word.e.g. [how to train a dog -bull dog]

you can see from the above example, there is hyphen (minus sign)  at the back of bull dog.this means bull dog will not be among the search result.

Lesson 3-4 OR and quotes

this lesson talks about two operator, the OR and quotes.the quote is used to group word together, for instance, twinkle twinkle little star.

when you search for that nursery rhyme without the quote, you may get different result that may not give you what you are looking for.but when you rephrase it with a quote, "twinkle twinkle little star", then you are likely to get desired result.

on the other hand, the OR is used to search for worlds which either have some similarities i.e It provides a way of combining ideas so that you can search for pages including at least one out of a set of related terms or synonyms.for example, laptop OR computer.

they both have similarities and when you search for it on Google, you are likely to get a result that will explain what the both can do or what each can do on a separate page.

Lesson 3.5: Intext: and Advanced Search

this lesson talks about searching for a topic and including a word by forcing Google search to show it in the search result i.e It allows you to find pages that have a specific word in the body of the text somewhere--it forces inclusion on the page.for example, how to add facebook comment to blogger blog site:gurubest.com intext:blogspot.

when you search for the above example, you are telling google to search for the searched term and also forcing it to show the page that has blogspot in that keyword.hope you understand.
