power search Google course(class 1 activities)

==> Lesson 1 Introduction:

Daniel Russell Senior Research Scientist Google Inc, explained what the course is all about and how it intend to solve peoples problem towards finding what they are looking for on Google search.

==> Lesson 1.2: Filtering image result by color:

i believe so many of us searches the web using images, but do you know you can narrow your search to a particular set of images to make your search more effective by using the color tools at the left corner of the page and also using similar link to get more of the exact image you are finding.

for example, you are looking for a word [CAT FISH], but you don't know exactly the type, you can use color tools at the left side of the screen to get more specific as to whether the fish has white, black, blue, gray etc skin and then click similar at the button of the image you are eventually looking for to give you more of such result.this is just a tips of the ice burg.

==> Lesson 1.3: How Search Works.

This lesson featured a video by Matt Cutts, an engineer at Google. It demonstrated how spiders work: how they crawl the web, collect information, and pull it all together to provide an index Google uses every time you do a search.

==> Lesson 1.4: The art of keyword choice

this lesson is trying to let us know that Google search works with what you type as keywords which it uses to query web pages in order to give you exactly what you are looking for.

Sometimes you have to try a couple of different queries to focus in on the information you want, trying different combinations of keywords. Keywords are the most important words in your idea or question they tell the search engine what you are seeking. They can also be called search terms e.g [what is a product].

==> Lesson 1.5: Word order matters

this lesson is trying to let us know that the words will search can have relationship, but gives different result.for example, who, a who, the who etc.they are all different search terms that has similarities but will give different search queries.

==> Lesson 1.6: Finding text on a web page.

this lesson is talking about using the control [Ctr F] to search for words on a web pages.instead of scrolling down looking for one word, you can easily search for that word by using the Ctr F key on your keyboard to make justice to the search.for instance, instead scrolling down, searching for the UGANDA in a list of country on a web page, you can easily use the Ctr F to search for it within a seconds.
