the causes is not limited to what i have noticed with most computer or laptop,but with this little tips,you can resolve it.
1.
reducing hard disk space is been caused by too many installed software on your computer or laptop.some people do install large programs and do not bother them selves to perform health maintenance by cleaning the registry and  hard drive of the computer,therefore it would make the system to have low C drive.do you know that when you install a software program,two actions would take place,the software would be installed in your hard disk and also goes to your system restore point.the system restore point consume a lot of hard disk space on computers,that is why you have the option to restore your system back to factory settings.when you install a software,it will automatically create a system restore point of the same file size so as to restore back should in case you encouter any problem installing the software.
2.often performing of system restore factory settings causes the computer C drive to be shrinking in size and reduce gradually.a lot of people have the habit of performing system restore factory setting when ever they notice any little problem that could be resolved if only you find a solution to it other than restoring your computer.system restore should not be misused as it has its own advantages and disadvantages.so take note of it.
3.too much of hibernating of your computer would cause the system hard disk to shrink in size.this is because hibernation is saving what you are doing which require large hard drive.so too much of hibernating the computer would lead to low system  drive.take note of it.

so how do i solve low hard disk space on my computer

step1:if you are using window vista or window 7,goto computer and right click the hard disk and choose property.
step2:when the window open,click on disk cleanup at the down left corner and start the clean up.
step3:wait for the cleanup to complete.when completed a window will show up,tick the necessary files you wish to delete,you may tick all,after ticking,look at the down left corner and click on cleanup system files,then click on more option at the upper left corner,then under the system restore and shadow copies,click on the cleanup to clear the system restore point,wait for it to be completed,then delete the ticked items from the previous window.

.that's all.check your C drive and you will notice the large amount of space you have recovered.NOTE: deleting your restore point means you can't be able to restore back your computer to previous date because you have wiped out the restore point,so you are advised to create a restore point manually or simply install a new software to create restore point.ENJOY.
